Abstract. Ramlee A, Suhaimi H, Rasdi NW. 2021. Diversity and abundance of plankton in different habitat zonation Papan River, Lake Kenyir, Malaysia. Biodiversitas 23: 212-221. Kenyir is the largest artificial lake Malaysia, yet there limited information regarding lake’s ecology. This study aimed to determine diversity phytoplankton zooplankton various ecosystems along Kenyir. Three distinct sampling points were chosen based on diverse conditions, namely point A (high water current area), B (shallow muddy area) C (minimum area). Samples collected horizontally using a 30µm net with two towing methods: boat hand specific areas. The result showed that all had low chlorophyll-a concentrations ranging between 10 20 g/ml, indicating no algae bloom occurred. Bacillariophyta found have highest distribution division stations (50.96%). other discovered was Chlorophyta (29.62%), followed by Charophyta (19.43%). Additionally, 140 individual species across locations. phylum Rotifera most dominant terms (60.00 %), Arthropoda (31.43%), Ciliophora (7.14%), Rhizopoda (0.71%). Shannon index, evenness, richness measurements at B, revealed range index values due variation interaction conditions. planktonic River attributed their preferences freshwater lake's ecosystem's zones
